苏州光福镇位于苏州城西28公里的太湖之滨的邓尉山麓，是一座嵌入太湖的半岛，整个岛体现出太湖农家风情。
每年二月，光福邓尉山一带，梅花吐蕊，势若雪海，故名香雪海，成为江南最著名的探梅胜地。光福湖岸线漫长，太湖渔船多集于此，形成了中国内湖第一渔港太湖渔港。
